Genesis 8 | Waiting for God to Speak

February 7, 2016 Speaker: Sam Ford Series: BEDROCK | Genesis 1-11

Topic: Old Testament Passage: Genesis 8:1–19

On the surface, the events of the chapter are relatively straightforward. The boat stops. The water subsides. Noah walks out. We must slow down and read the details in order to appreciate the deeper meaning of these events. The identification of months and days reveal that a lot of time transpired between the destruction of the old world and the beginning of the new again. Like Noah, it is between our REDEMPTION and our RESTORATION that faith works itself in real life. A life of faith is not always, if ever, a pleasure cruise. More often than not, it is like floating in a dark box on the open sea trusting that God remembers you are there.
