Genesis 13 | Waiting for God to Lift our Eyes
Preacher: Sam Ford Series: COVENANT | Genesis 12-24 Topic: Old Testament Scripture: Genesis 13:1–18
For as old as this story is, Abram’s faith is not very different than our own. In one moment he is radically faithful, and in the next he is radically faithless. This is our example of faith. The Bible records Abram’s faithlessness in full color. The man of faith is also a man of sin. He screws up. He fears. He makes bad decisions. He suffers consequences. But that is what faith is…imperfect. Our hope is not in our faithfulness, but in God’s. The cross shows us that God plans for our failures. Genesis 13 teaches us that God does more than plan for our failures. He plans to grow our faith through our failures.
