“You are the salt of the earth, but if salt has lost its taste, how shall its saltiness be restored? It is no longer good for anything except to be thrown out and trampled under people’s feet. Matthew 5.13
WE ARE SENT AS AMBASSADORS. God sent his son, Jesus, to live within the culture. He worked, ate and interacted among the people; living in such a way that those around him could see and experience what God was truly like.
Jesus came to restore man’s relationship with God. In the same way, this is not our home. We are called out of the world and sent into it. In Christ, we are missionaries sent into our culture to restore all things to God through Jesus. What begins in our homes must extend into our city and beyond.
Empowered by the Spirit, therefore, we proclaim the gospel in word and deed begining locally and extending regionally to be the "salt" for the world. In 2 Corinthians Paul says that Christ “through us spreads the fragrance of the knowledge of Him everywhere. For we are the aroma of Christ...” Those who go forth into unreached places emanate spiritual air and vitality through the Spirit. As people linger in the presence of believers all over the world, may they breathe in the life-giving winds of the Spirit.
Road Salt Missions is the group within our church, charged with the leading the effort to reach those places which are farther from us, to Samaria and beyond.
